National Education Policy (NEP) through the State Education Project Director’s directive to set up state-level monitoring teams in various districts to conduct meticulous inspections of government schools. A team of three members led by 24 officials has been formed to recommend departmental actions against schools, teachers, and HM (Head Master) found negligent. Today, teams are conducting thorough inspections in several government schools of the state, evaluating the academic environment, teacher and student attendance, basic school infrastructure like labs and facilities, and sending their reports to the State Education Project.
In cases of negligence and non-compliance with the directives of the State Education Project Council, several teachers and principals have been found at fault by the monitoring teams. Notices for show-cause have been issued to 23 teachers in Gumla for not recording regular biometric attendance on the e-Vidya Vahini portal. They have been directed to respond within 3 days, with departmental action recommended in case of unsatisfactory responses.
The monitoring teams, conducting inspections in Gumla and Palamu, found several schools in these districts lacking in functional labs and facing low attendance issues. Action has been taken against teachers and principals of Government Plus Two Higher Secondary School in Kamdara, Gumla, and Government Plus Two High School in Patan, Palamu, with orders to withhold their salaries. Expressing dissatisfaction with attendance at RK Plus Two High School in Gadhwa, the team has sent a report to the State Education Project Director. The team noted a significant lack of student presence in the school’s total student ratio during a parent-teacher meeting and has sought clarification from the school.

Inspections will continue regularly Officers from the monitoring teams, who conducted inspections in various districts, will prepare detailed reports of the schools inspected and submit them to the State Education Project Director and the district magistrate. During inspections, any negligence or non-compliance with orders in government schools will also lead to actions by the State Education Project Council.
